Technical Advisory Committee/Citizens Agency Advisory Committee

The Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) and the Citizens Agency Advisory Committee (CAAC) includes a variety of interests and institutions connected to the airport’s future plans. The group guides the technical development of the Airport Master Plan, serves as a local sounding board, and facilitates local process and stakeholder involvement. The TAC/CAAC meets during strategic points during the development of the Airport Master Plan.

Public Workshops

During the Master Plan Update project, there will be numerous public workshops as the project is developed. They will be designed as a time for two-way communication between the public and the project team. The workshops will offer project information through displays and other presentations and provide a convenient forum for direct discussion, feedback and comment.

Successful Open House

The first of two Open House events for the Yakima Air Terminal – McAllister Field’s Master Plan was held on February 22, 2012. The event was well-attended by public officials, general aviation interests, members of the Yakima business community and interested citizens. More than a dozen attended the first open house. Airport staff and the consulting team were on-hand to answer questions.

The room was filled with display boards on easels around the room, creating an art gallery atmosphere. Guests strolled around the room to see the exhibits. In one area, visitors enjoyed photos and maps of the airport today. Another area explained forecast changes for passengers and aircraft activity at Yakima Air Terminal. Concepts for future improvements and expansion to the airfield and the terminal building attracted lots of interest.
